Growing demand for programmes and course on the rehabilitation:
The demand for special courses is increasing day by day. Both the government and corporate sectors show rising avenues of employment. Feel and courtesy of servicing along earning employment has attracted enthusiasts for these programmes. For instance, the number of people with hearing difficulties is growing. The scarcity of speech and audiology experts is severe. Andhra Mahila Sabha offers a two year programme of D. Ed. (Hearing Impaired and Mentally Retard and) with 25 available seats every year, which in past use to go vacant. The same in recent years are getting filled in no time.

Career prospects:
It needs tremendous amounts of compassion and patience to work with the physically challenged and mentally retarded. One needs to dwell in to the minds of theses delicate kids and mold them to normal. The number of children with born disability is growing day by day. But the available personnel at service have remained stagnant. Consequently, the students are getting jobs at immediate completion of the course. The avenues of this employment have risen than usual. The starting pay bands are attractive. Some even are finding jobs abroad. Others are joining hospitals and NGOs. A few have started their own practice too. Even the government is providing special training to the deaf, dumb and mentally retard through Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. All it needs is little skill and patience. One can make a bright career in this field too.
